Just went blackberry picking this morning; and I have blueberries from a friend's garden a few days ago.

Snacking on them in lieu of breakfast was a sweet summer treat. I'll freeze about half the berries, but I want to use more of them fresh! :) I'm not sure what all I'll make just yet, but hopefully more berry recipes will be popping up soon!

I already have a pie and a cobbler recipe posted. ...and gelato! Blackberry jam, blueberry jam, syrups, blackberry vinegar, blueberry scones, blackberry gingerbread...

Spiced Chocolate Zucchini Cake

¾ C butter, softened
1¾ C sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
3 eggs
2 C zucchini, shredded
2 tsp vanilla
½ C milk
2½ C flour
½ C unsweetened cocoa powder 
1¾ tsp baking powder
1½ tsp soda
tsp salt
optional: 1 C chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375°. In a large bowl cream butter, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until light.  Add eggs, mixing well. Stir in zucchini and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk to zucchini batter, beating well after each addition. Pour batter in to greased pans, or paper lined cupcake/muffin tins.

Bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about... 
cupcake/muffins = 25 minutes
2 9" round pans = 30 minutes
2 loaf pans = 35 minutes
1 9x13" oblong pan = 40 minutes

Cool. Frost with cream cheese frosting.
