1½ C sugar
2 C blackberries
2 C lemon juice
Create a simple syrup: heat 1½ cups water with sugar in a saucepan, until sugar is completely dissolved. Cool. Stir together blackberries and simple syrup, muddling flavors. Add lemon juice, 2 cups water and ice. Garnish with lemon slices and/or additional berries.
If a seedless and less pulpy lemonade is desired, add blackberries to simple syrup while still quite warm. Let berries steep as syrup cools; then, strain out most (or all) of the berries, pressing gently to retain all juices. Add lemon, water and ice...
